Lucasfilm has finally released the final, full-length trailer forSolo: A Star Wars Story. Ron Howard promised that the new trailer would be released soon, but many did not expect it to be released on a Sunday. Howard has used social media to regularly update the progress of theStar Warsmovie since he took over last summer. Most of the pictures that he shared were pretty cryptic and have since started to shed light on the status of the production. As of last week, the score was finished, and the digital effects were almost complete.
We received our first look at theSolomovie in February during the Super Bowl rush andStar Warsfans criticized the debut footage fornot showing enough of Alden Ehrenreich’s young Han Solo. However, the new footage has more of the young Solo while being extra careful not to give anything away. The new trailer gives just enough to leave fans wanting a lot more, which is exactly what a good trailer is supposed to do. The good thing is that there’s only a little over a month to go beforeSolohits theaters.

One of the villains in theSolois Enfys Nest and we recently learned that the character is played by a woman, though the identity of the actor behind the mask remains unknown. Enfys Nest leads a band of marauders called the Cloud Riders and according to new reports, the character actor is contracted for two more movies. There’s still plenty that isn’t clear about the character, but it certainly seems that a sequel could come along, depending on the success ofSolo.
As for tracking,Solois looking to debut just belowRogue One, isset to take in $150 million opening weekend, which is just shy of the $155 million thatRogue Onepulled in. Additionally, the forthcoming standaloneStar Warsmovie is estimated to end up with a final box office total of anywhere from $390 million to $475 million, which would put it belowRogue One’s total of over $532 million.Solois coming out right in the middle of a very busy summer box office withInfinity WarandDeadpool 2in close proximity.
After months of waiting, we finally have the new trailer forSolo: A Star Wars Storyand it looks even better than the initial footage that we were treated to at the beginning of the year. From here on out, this is the last full-length trailer that we will get until the movie hits theaters on May 25th. However, we will more than likely get some new TV spots and some more promotional tie-in commercials along the way. It looks that the promotional campaign has taken a cue fromThe Last JediandInfinity Warwith a highlight on secrecy, so we won’t really have to worry about spoilers untilSolo premieres at Canneson May 15th.
