Marvel Studios’ Head of Marvel Streaming, Television, and Animation,Brad Winderbaum,recently shared intriguing details about the highly anticipated series,Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The 2D-animated series is set during Peter Parker’s earliest years as Spider-Man and his life in high school. Hudson Thames from Marvel’sWhat If…?will play the web-slinger as the series delves into his formative experiences. Created by Jeff Trammell, known for his work on Cartoon Network’sCraig of the Creek, it will follow Peter Parker as he adjusts to his newfound abilities and first encounters as a superhero.

Little has been officially revealed about the project so far, but in a recent interview onThe Official Marvel Podcast,Winderbaum shed light on what makes the series unique, and how Jeff Trammell has somewhat similar experiences onCraig of the Creek.

“There are twists and turns in that show that are amazing, but the real power is the ensemble, is the neighborhood… He [Jeff Trammell] is amped that up in such a major way playing with characters like – not just Peter Parker – Nico Minoru, Lonnie Lincoln, my personal favorite, Harry Osborn, and others that flesh out this teenage ensemble.”

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man follows Peter Parker as he embarks on a journey to embrace his destiny as a hero. The film explores his unconventional path and the challenges he faces in balancing his newfound responsibilities with the ordinary aspects of his life. Released in 2025.

The reveal helps audiences understand that, much like Tom Holland’s web-slinger, who was starkly different from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, the animated series willallow Spider-Man to have fresh experiencesand surprising encounters. Winderbaum’s recent update sets the stage for the series to explore Harry Osborn’s character, which is exciting.
