Last month, Merchoid revealed their newt-shirtsfor the highly-anticipatedBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and just last week, they also unveiled their new merchandise forCaptain America: Civil War. We know that the upcoming superhero adventure will give fans their first look at the newSpider-Man, but we haven’t seen an official look at his costume quite yet. Today,Merchoidhas unveiled a newSpider-Manhoodie, which may or may not give fans an early look at the beloved hero’s new costume. As it turns out, the company itself isn’t even too sure. Here’s what Merchoid community manager Jessica Adams had to say in a statement.

“There’s been lots of talk online and people have been really excited that this could be what reveals the new lookSpider-man, However,Marvelis doing a fantastic job of keeping the newSpider-Mancostume under wraps, so we haven’t yet seen it! What we can say is this hoodie was designed in partnership with Marvel, who provided all the design elements from their 2016 merchandise range, including the ‘messy’ webbing, which we haven’t yet seen in any priorSpider-Mancostume. We’re really excited to see whatSpider-Manfans think! …Whether or not this is based on the new Spider-man costume, the reaction so far has been incredible. We can’t wait to hear what people think about the final product when it releases in July.”

Fans can pre-order the hoodies on theMerchoidwebsite for $54.99, with orders set to ship on July 31. Of course, we’ll know long before then if this hoodie is actually similar to Spidey’s costume or not, sinceCaptain America: Civil Warhits theaters on May 6. It is possible this hoodie could be the real deal, though.

Back in July, new illustrations surfaced that were reportedly early concept art for the new Spidey costume, which featured the web crawler wearing a hoodie and some goggles. Those images were never confirmed as authentic, though, but the emergence of this Merchoid hoodie does lend some credence to the concept art’s authenticity. Still, we won’t find out for sure until Marvel gives us our first look atTom Hollandin action. In related news,Captain America: Civil WardirectorsAnthony RussoandJoe Russorecently spoke withCollider, where they shed new light on the casting process.

“It was a very long process. Kind of thing we had to lobby for for months. What happens during a long process like that, you’re continuing to develop the movie and the character. During the time that it takes you to convince the powers that be to make the jump and let you do that, you’ve engrained the character so deeply into the story at that point that you’d have to destroy the story to take him out. So, by the time we found out that he’d be in the movie, it wasn’t so much elation than like ‘Thank God! We don’t have to blow the whole movie up.’ I’m a comic book fan and collector, since I was a kid, and he’s my favorite character. And to get a chance to reinvent that character…For me, I really wanted to see somebody cast who was very close to a high schooler’s age…What was so valuable to me about the character, when I was a kid, is that he’s a high schooler with this power and responsibility, and it makes him very distinct as a hero. It makes him distinct from the other characters in the Marvel Universe, who are confident, experienced superheroes. It’s super important to have that color of the movie, and we felt that it was invaluable and we do think it goes a long way. That character helps us balance out the tone of the movie.”

You can visit theMerchoidwebsite to pre-order your very ownSpider-Man. We aren’t sure when the nextCaptain America: Civil Wartrailer will arrive yet, but perhaps that will give us our first look at Peter Parker in action. Until then, what do you think of these hoodies?
