Star Trek: Discoverytakes place about a decade before the events of the originalStar Trekseries and follows the crew of the USS Discovery. Ethan Peck’sMr. Spockcan be heard saying, “As a child, I had the same vision, again and again. Now I understand where it must lead,” in the latest trailer, which more than likely has to do with the mystery of the seven signals. Season 2 ofStar Trek: Discoveryappears to be action packed with a lingering sense of doom.

Ethan Peckis playing the role made famous by Leonard Nimoy in the originalStar Trekseries and films. The character has also been played by Zachary Quinto in the latestStar Trekmovies. Peck recently posted a picture of himself with Nimoy’s family and thanked them for their “open arms, warm welcome, smiling curiosity, and support, for making me feel worthy…” It’s a big role to take on, and hardcore fans are going to be looking at everything that Peck does under a microscope when Season 2 ofStar Trek: Discoverypremieres.

TheStar Trek: DiscoverySeason 2 panel at NYCC also revealed an interesting bit of information about the Klingons. Actress Mary Chieffo confirmed that her Klingon character,L’Rell, will have hair in the upcoming second season, which is a throwback to the way that the characters used to look before they started shaving their heads in times of war and letting it grow in times of peace. It’s a small factor, but hardcore fans will more than likely be pretty excited to see L’Rell with some hair this season.
