The latest episode of the new addition to theStar Warscanon saw Jabba The Hutt’s twin cousins take out a hit on Boba Fett, sending the Wookie bounty hunter Black Krrssantan after their target. However, we are only a few episodes in, so Boba Fett isn’t about it be killed off anytime soon. With that in mind, it is not surprising that things don’t go as planned for Krrssantan, and he finds himself trapped in the familiar pit that once housed the rancor. In the wake of their failed assassination attempt, the Hutts arrive at Boba’s palace the following day to call a truce and declare their intention of leaving Tatooine. As a way of an apology for their actions, they gift him a rancor calf, which comes with its own trainer. That trainer turns out to non-other than movie-buff favoriteDanny Trejo.

Considering how deeply involved Robert Rodriguez is in theStar Warsproject, and how often Trejo has a habit of turning up in the director’s work, it probably didn’t take too much to get the 77-year-old, who has appeared in movies such asFrom Dusk til Dawn, Machete KillsandCon Air, to make a cameo appearance in the new episode.

Star Wars Fans On Social Media Go Wild For Danny Trejo’s Cameo

Of course, while anyone who doesn’t want to have new surprises and plot details spoiled tend to stay away from social media on the day of a new release, and with good reason. Within hours of the third episode ofThe Book of Boba Fettarriving on Disney+, Twitter became awash with fans of both theStar Warsseries and Danny Trejo. Although some chose to keep the secret a secret, there were plenty who were happy to spread the news of Trejo’s appearance. One commented, “Is it really a Robert Rodriguez production unless it has Danny Trejo in?”, while another said, “Ok Danny Trejo bringing in a god damn Rancor was NOT in my prediction list for the show.” Check out some of the other comments below.

The return of the rancor itself was also a big hit with fans after the creature played a big role inReturn of the Jedialmost 40 years ago. With a new rancor calf now ready to grow up to be big and formidable just like its predecessor, how the creature and Trejo as its handler will feature in the future is something that audiences cannot wait to see.
