It’s not likely Sasha Calle will reprise her role as Supergirl in the DCU, and the fans are not happy. The latest rumors swirling around the internet, which surround and sometimes shroud Peter Safran and James Gunn’s new DC Universe, indicate that Kal-El’s Kryptonian cousin is being cast in a cameo forSuperman: Legacybefore the character appears in her own standalone film,Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. And according to Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman (perPatreon), Calle will not return to the role that she portrayed inThe Flash.
Fans on X, formerly Twitter, quickly took to social media after the rumor mill started churning out the unconfirmed news that Calle would not be donning her Kryptonian suit for a second go-round in DC’s cinematic sandbox.@giselleb1234wrote:

“If the Supergirl recasting on Superman: Legacy and Sasha Calle not being in the DCU rumors are true then I’m upset because she really gave it her all in the little amount of time she had in The Flash. As a Latina it was amazing being represented this way🥺❤️ #SupermanLegacy”
Calle’s interpretation of the Girl of Steel was one of the best parts ofThe Flash, which also included Michael Keaton’s return as the Batman. However, the Ezra Miller-led film turned out to be a box office disaster as the theatrical train wreck only made $270.6 million worldwide against an extortionate budget of nearly $300 million.

Sasha Calle’s Supergirl
Many fans feel betrayed thatSasha Calle’sversion of Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, will not be a part of the DCU. Additionally, another rumor posted via the Reddit communityr/DCEUleaksreveals the casting breakdown for the actress being sought to portray Kara in the highly coveted cameo for James Gunn’sSuperman: Legacy.
According to the criteria, the right performer will be a “white actress” who is between the ages of “18 and 25” and the casting process won’t be “finalized” until a director is hired forthe standalone filmSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Another fan of Calle’s,@LadyJazzington, addressed the recasting rumor on X:
That’s bulls—t. Say what you will about The Flash. It was bad, yes. But NONE of it had to do with Sasha Calle and she deserved far more than being a side character to the Ezra Miller solo act.
@superflashwestadded:
Sasha Calle, you deserved SO MUCH better I’m so sorry. Your Supergirl had crazy potential… 😣💔
It’s clear thatCalle wants to play Supergirl again. But if the rumors are true, Kara Zor-El will appear on the big screen as she does in author Tom King’sWoman of Tomorrowcomic books. And, as most DC diehards already know, the original and most recognizable take on Kara is the blonde-haired hero who first appears in the pages ofAction ComicsNo. 252 (1959) — the character who gave her life to save Superman from the Anti-Monitor inCrisis on Infinite EarthsNo. 7 (1985).
