The movie follows a group of teenagers who play with things no one should be playing with. Rumors spread about an embalmed hand that allows anyone who shakes it to conjure up spirits, and Mia, one of the teenagers, likes to bend the rules of the game. Eventually, she finds out that the door they have opened was always supposed to stay shut.

Talk to Mewas very successful in terms of box office sales and critical reception. It brought in over $91 million worldwide and even made more money than A24’s signature horror movieHereditaryin domestic sales. Critics were enamored with the film, and to this day, it holds a 94% score on the Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score (Popcornmeter) registers a score of 83%.

The reception ofTalk to Mewas good enough to make producersstart thinking about a sequel very quickly. However, the directing duo were already ahead of their plans. By the film’s release, they had already shot a few scenes for a prequel short and written some scenes for a potential sequel. Also known as comedy duo RackaRacka, Michael Philippou and Danny Philippou will make theirhorror comeback in 2025 withBring Her Back, an upcoming feature set to be released on July 01, 2025. Following the siblings' success withTalk to Me, A24 has cut a deal to distributeBring Her Backas well.

The recently released trailer did not reveal any details about the movie, and all we have is a pretty vague synopsis: “A brother and sister uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother.” Nevertheless, if we were to judge from the trailer, it’s safe to say thatBring Her Backis projected to be one of the noteworthy horror films of the year. The images on that first look could give any horror fan nightmares.
