Earlier this year showrunner Eric Kripke said he wasworking hard to get the actor in the upcoming fourth seasonof the superhero television series. Finally, Morgan is confirmed to be joining the cast, and the rest ofThe Boysteam couldn’t be happier, welcoming their newest co-worker with middle fingers galore.

Production began on Season 4 earlier this month, and Eric Kripke has just released the first behind-the-scenes pic viaTwitterwhile the cast works on the latest season. We get our first look at Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara as they welcome Morgan toThe Boys. The caption reads, “Welcome to the fam, @JDMorgan. We’re all SO PSYCHED to have you!! (This pic is from #Season4, now shooting).”

The officialThe BoysTwitteraccount didn’t take long to get in on the action. However, they wouldn’t confirm Morgan’s character, or whether he has super powered abilities. “Chuffed to welcome @JDMorgan to The Boys S4. Can’t confirm if he’s gettin' any tights, though.” Karl Urban was also happy to see Morgan, saying he’s mind blown and can’t wait to film together.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has a lot lined up, with his upcomingThe Walking Deadspinoff,Isle of the Dead, filmingand set for a release sometime in 2023. Morgan is thankful for AMC and the team behindThe Boysfor allowing his schedule to coincide with filming, saying, “Can’t tell you how excited I am! Fans who have seenThe Walking Deadshould know how easily a foul-mouthed Jeffrey Dean Morgan character could fit intoThe Boysuniverse. For now, fans will have to wait and see who the actor will play, but he’s sure to be a fan favorite in Season 4.

It’s a Supernatural Reunion on Prime Video

Jeffrey Dean Morgan played John Winchester inSupernatural, the father of Dean Winchester who was played by Jensen Ackles. Ackles made his first appearance inThe Boysduring Season 3, playing America’s first hero, Solider Boy. Eric Kripke is also the creator ofSupernatural, adding for an already established relationship between the trio. With Prime Video adding anotherSupernaturalactor in Morgan, the show is only missing Jared Padalecki who played another Winchester son. During an interview withE! News, Kripke mentioned his desire to get all three Winchester’s inThe Boys, if Padalecki was willing to join.

“I would put Jared on the show in a heartbeat. I mean, he’s really busy with his empire over there in Austin, but if it was willing to play, I would put him on the show in a second.”

Maybe Jared Padalecki joinsThe Boysfor Season 5? Nevertheless, fans are ecstatic to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan joinThe Boyscast, and none may be more excited than Morgan himself.
