The boys ofSupernaturalare reuniting, fittingly, onThe Boys. On the surface, there might be a lot of distance between The CW weekly procedural and the R-rated hit streaming series, but the two shows come from the same creative mind, Eric Kripke. The Boysshowrunner is best known as the creator ofSupernaturaland worked on the series for the first five seasons. Kripke has usedThe Boysto collaborate with many of his former actors. For the final season, Kripke is pulling out all the stops as the main trio ofSupernaturalwill appear.

Jared PadaleckiandMisha Collinshave been confirmed to appear inThe BoysSeason 5. TheirSupernaturalco-star Jensen Ackles, previously featured onThe Boysas Soldier Boy, is expected to reprise his role. Diehard fans are well aware that Ackles and Padalecki played Dean and Sam Winchester, respectively, inSupernatural. Supernatural surpassed its original five-season plan by some way, and Eric Kripke shared his thoughts on how it was possible.

There is no word on who Padalecki or Collins will play or if the duo will share scenes and, more importantly, act alongside Ackles' Soldier Boy. However, both actors join thegrowing roster ofSupernaturalactors who have appeared onThe Boys. Some notable names include Jim Beaver, Bobby Singer onSupernatural, who ended up playing a similarly named senator turned president, Robert A. ‘The Boys’ Are Back in Town

Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, Jensen Ackles, and Eric Kripke all working together again is incredible news for fans ofSupernatural, which ended its historic 15-season run in November 2020. By that point, Kripke had long left the series and began working onThe Boys. Due to the filming restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, theSupernaturalseries finale was hampered by many outside forces thatleft fans disappointed. While the cast moved on to other projects, like Padalecki taking on the lead role inWalkerand Collins playing Harvey Dent / Two Face inGotham Knights, fans have wanted aSupernaturalreunion for five years. It isn’t Season 16, butThe Boysis offering the next best thing.

A lot of eyes are onThe Boysright now. The ending of Season 4, which featured Homelander taking control of the government and targeting individuals he sees as a threat to him, certainly hits much harder than it did when the episode first aired. The recent news that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is making significant changes to the Washington Post editorial team has forced long-time editor David Shipley to step down. Many have seen this as Bezos exerting much more creative control to downplay criticism of the Trump administration. WithThe Boysitself being a pointed and rather blunt political satire that has taken direct aim at the administration, it will be curious to see if Kripke and co-executive Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s creative instincts remain untouched by the higher-ups.
