A Chance to Relive and Revive a Time in Classic Television is Coming Soon
The Golden Girls Kitchen is slated to make its debut in Beverly Hills in July and will feature “a fully functioning restaurant and bar,” described as fast-casual with an emphasis on desserts. The main interactions between the characters on the series occurred around the kitchen table where they gathered for coffee, sweet treats like cheesecake, heart-to-heart chats, and fun-loving jabs at Rose.
Derek Berry, Bucket List Director of Experience, stated that bringing Golden Girls to life has always been a dream of his. Berry has certainly found his niche in the hospitality industry, specializing in pop culture, and nostalgia-tinged theme pop-up restaurants. Some of his projects have been inspired by the likes of90201’s Peach Pit,Breaking BadandSaved by the Bell. The latter, “Saved by the Max” restaurant, was so popular that it traveled around the country.
The Golden Girls Kitchen will serve up Sophia’s Lasagna (meat or vegan), Blanche’s Georgia Style Cookies, The Dorothy: A Miami Style Sandwich and beverages like Tea Arthur and Rose on Rose’ and all served by friendly Shady Pines waiters. Additional items and local delivery will also be available for à la carte purchase. Each ticket purchased (listed at $50) comes with a reserved seat and a guaranteed window of time to dine.
Also, on hand will be exclusive merch, “a variety of iconic photo moments,” a chance to chill on the lanai, selfie opportunities, and a spin through Shady Pines. Berry believes visiting “die-hard fans of the show and first-timers will leave with a deeper appreciation for the show’s lasting legacy.”
