The latest spinoff in the zombie franchise was recently added to the streaming platform as part of a deal to showcase AMC shows, and to no one’s surprise, it instantly began climbing the charts.

Premiering on Jul 25, 2025, the spinoff focuses on Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira’s respective characters of Rick Grimes and Michonne, and is currently Certified Fresh with an 88% rating from critics. The six-episode limited series reunited the pair after a long absence, which is part of what made the appeal of it so great. It’s a love story set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and one that is easily laudedfor being the best in the franchiseto date for its strong character development.

Sadly, there won’t be another season ofThe Ones Who Liveany time soon, but fans looking for moreWalking Deaddon’t have long to wait, as the second season ofDead Cityis set to premiere on AMC later this summer. It’s one of two spin-offs currently running, with the other –Daryl Dixon–recently wrapping up its sophomore outing.
Dead Cityfocuses on Maggie and Negan as they navigate a zombie-infested Manhattan together, trying to rescue Maggie’s son after he was kidnapped. Along the way, we’re treated to a whole host of new threats, including Dama and the Croat. However, when the series returns later this year, a new bad guy will emerge by way of the tremendous Kim Coates. Speaking with MovieWeb earlier this month, Coates told us that his character of Brugal is unlike anything he’s ever played before, while at the same time promising that he’ll be one of the most “vicious” villains we’ve seen yet. “It’s a character I’ve never played before,” Coates told us. “He’s funny and vicious, and he’s a baby. I can’t wait for people to see it.”
