While 2025 marks the end of one phase for the MCU, it also ushers in the beginning of Phase 6, which includes the highly anticipated release ofAvengers: Doomsdaynext year.Thunderbolts*is the final film of Phase 5 of the Multiverse Saga, and some of its stars are alreadyconfirmed to be returning for the firstmoviein Marvel Studios' two-partAvengersepic, which is set to conclude with 2027’sSecret Wars— but don’t expect the cast members to be giving away any spoilers as, by the sounds of it, Kevin Feige’s secrecy training is very intense.
Wyatt Russell, who made his MCU debut as John Walker/U.S. Agent in the Disney+ seriesThe Falcon and the Winter Soliderand is reprising his role inThunderbolts*,whichpremieres May 2 in theaters, hinted in a recent interview with ComicBook.com that Marvel will go to extreme lengths to keep a lid on spoilers for its next big-screen Avengers team-up, six years on fromEndgame. The actor joked that he’s been sworn to secrecy, saying, “Media training forDoomsdayis they just hold a knife to your neck and said ‘You say anything, and it’s over.'”

No, the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Cast Announcement Did Not Spoil ‘Thunderbolts*’
Knowing that various cast members of ‘Thunderbolts*’ survive the film isn’t a spoiler since they have never been Marvel’s Suicide Squad.
Russell’sThunderbolts*co-star David Harbour, who plays Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian in the anti-hero team-up movie, agreed that the studio’s methods for keepingAvengers: Doomsdaystars schtum are quite extreme. He admitted that trying to dodge questions about the Russo brothers’ next big cinematic event in the MCU while doing the media rounds is a daunting prospect, saying, “It’s the most terrifying stunt imaginable, doing a bunch of interviews where they go, ‘So we hear you’re inDoomsday?’ and he’s just like harnessed up.”

Thunderbolts*director Jack Schreier might have worked with severalAvengers: Doomsdaycast members on his forthcoming MCU entry, but he doesn’t appear to be directly involved with theAvengersdouble bill from Joe and Anthony Russo. As a result, he has seemingly been spared the sit-down with Marvel. “You know, what’s funny is that I feel like I never got taken into the back room and really given the talking to,” the filmmaker revealed. “I think maybe they know it’s out in the world now, and you just learn not to to reveal anything.”
Marvel Studios has been plagued with story leaks, set photo spoilers, and interview slip-ups ahead of its big movie releases in the past, so stringent measures are being enforced to try and preserve secrets, including keeping theAvengers: Doomsdaycast in the dark. Harbour and his fellowThunderbolts*co-star Florence Pugh previously admitted that theyhadn’t read a script for the MCU sequel yet, even though production began in March. “I haven’t read a script, so I can’t leak anything,” Pugh said, with Harbour adding, “I’m in the same boat.”

Avengers: Doomsdayis already one of the most talked-about entries inPhase 6 of the MCU, which is also the culmination of the Multiverse Saga. It begins withThe Fantastic Four: First Stepson August 04, 2025, followed byDoomsdayon August 03, 2025, an untitled Spider-Man sequel on June 19, 2025, andAvengers: Secret Warson July 30, 2025. The twoAvengersmovies areexpected to have epic runtimes, rivaling the length ofInfinity WarsandEndgame, so there will no doubt be plenty to discuss in the lead-up to both of their releases and beyond.
