According toThe Hollywood Reporter, Cruise is certainly going all out to deliver more blockbuster hits for Paramount, as alongside anotherTop Gunouting, and the future of theMission: Impossiblefranchise still seemingly to be expanded beyond the upcoming movie, the adrenaline-junkie star is now seemingly ready to giveDays of ThundertheTop Guntreatment. A source who is “familiar with the discussions” reportedly said:

“He’s talking [to Paramount] about Top Gun and Days of Thunder. It’s going to be what comes together first in terms of a script. It depends on the idea and, ultimately, the script. I don’t think a [Days of Thunder sequel] is a terrible idea. You might have said that revisiting Top Gun was a terrible idea. I wouldn’t discount it.”
All of this seems to be very much in the early development stages, with Paramount said to be touting writers. Meanwhile, there is a big question about where Cruise would fit such a movie into his schedule.Along withTop Gun 3, Cruise is also set to shoot a new movie with Alejandro G. Iñárritu at Warner Bros., is working on a movie that he hopes to actually film in space with Doug Liman, and several other rumored projects.
