Marvel Studios veteran Chris Hemsworth and Eternals star Brian Tyree Henry will join theTransformersfranchise as two of the most popular characters. The actors are set to voice Optimus Prime and Megatron in the recently announced animated movie.During the Paramount Pictures presentation at CinemaCon 2023, the whole cast for the project was revealed (viaDiscussing Film). Joining Hemsworth and Tyree Henry will be none other than Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as the beloved Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion.
The film will focus on the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron, perhaps two of the most iconic names in the entire franchise. Optimus Prime is a Cybertron and main leader of the Autobots, direct rivals of the Decepticons and main heroes of the saga.
For his part, Megatron is the main enemy of Optimus Prime, as leader of the Decepticons. With this in mind, we can expect the film to show young versions of both characters before they start fighting and become mortal enemies. At the beginning, they were actually good friends, so the plot will probably dive deep into that.
The newTransformersmovie will be directed by Josh Cooly, who took a big step in the world of animation a few years ago directing Toy Story 4. This will be the first animated movie in the franchise to hit the big screen, since most of the projects carried out in this format were only seen on television or directly to home release.
