Based on theSookie Stackhousenovel series by Charlaine Harris, HBO’sTrue Blooddelighted fans with its tales of vampires, werewolves, and fairies. The popular supernatural series ran for seven seasons, airing from 2008 to 2014. In December 2020, HBO Max announced its development of a reboot of the popular vampire drama, however,the project is still getting fleshed out. The announcement came as a shock to many loyalTrue Bloodand Charlaine Harris fans, as some feel it is too soon for a remake.HBO boss Casey Bloys has statedthat it would have to be a “story worth telling,” so fans shouldn’t hold their breath for the release just yet.
Original cast members Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have already expressed interest in reuniting with the original cast as news of the reboot was first released, which could indicate the possibility of legacy cameos. The retelling ofthe series will reportedly be headed up byRiverdaleboss Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Original creator Alan Ball is also said to be attached to the project as an executive producer. Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin stars inTrue Bloodas novel namesake Sookie Stackhouse.
