Warner Bros. has just unleashed the second full-length trailer for one of the most highly anticipated movies in their entire upcoming slate of DC Comics-based movies. We learned that this newWonder Womantrailer would be dropping soon, becauseTrailer Trackconfirmed earlier in the week that the trailer was attached to the North American release ofDoctor Strange. So, the trailer has made its way online as well to the benefit of DC fans all over the world courtesy ofWarner Bros. This is the first new trailer we have seen since the first footage debuted at San Diego Comic-Con over the summer, which was met with nearly universal praise and was one of the most talked about things coming out of the event. Here is the official synopsis for the movie.

“Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.”

Ever since thesuperhero crazestarted back in the early 2000’s, fans have been calling for a female-led superhero movie to get made. Save forElektra(which most of us would like to try and forget about), that hasn’t really happened yet. Many were upset when Marvel Studios announced their Phase 3 lineup, which failed to include aScarlett Johansson/Black WidowSolo movie, which everyone assumed was going to happen. That left room for Warner Bros. to swoop in and getWonder Womandone, allowing them to beat Marvel to the punch.Gal Gadot’s performance as the character was one of the most praised qualities ofBatman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, so when you couple that with the great footage we have seen so far, there is a lot of reason to be encouraged.

Warner Bros. has surroundedGal Gadotwith an impressive supporting cast. She is being joined byChris Pineas Steve Trevor,Robin Wrightas General Antiope andConnie Nielsenas Queen Hippolyta. Other members of the cast includeDavid Thewlis,Elena Anaya,Danny Huston,Ewen BremnerandLucy Davis. We can’t totally rule out the possibility of some cameos, being that this is part of theDC Extended Universe, but it does take place during World War I, so that makes things tricky.

The movie is being directed byPatty Jenkins, who also directed the critically acclaimedMonster. Maybe the DCEU finally has a movie on their hands that both fans and critics love, which they could really use.Wonder Womanis set for release on August 08, 2025. Be sure to check out the brand new trailer for yourself below along with three exciting new posters.
